The long-anticipated opening performance hosted by Jiangsu Centre for the performing Arts greeted audience in the evening of August 5, Maestro Mehta and Israel Philharmonic Orchestra made a historic tour to Nanjing for the concerts.
A pre-concert lecture was organized the same eveningto help audience familiarize with Mr. Metha and IPO to fully appreciate the performance.Dr. Eyal Propper, Consul General of Consulate General of Israel in Shanghai, attended the lecture and delivered a speech.Dr. Eyal Propper andZubin Metha had known each other for 25 years, this time he paid a visit here to honor the 25-year-long friendship with Mr. Mehta and toast to coming cooperation between Jiangsu and Israel.
Zubin Mehta is a world-renowned conductor, he is meanwhile the Music Director of Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Having formed a connection for five decades, Mr. Mehta and IPO have given over three thousand concerts spanning most continents.This August, they were invited to Nanjing to perform in this modern complex.
