The city of Yancheng has made unremitting efforts to boost the construction of large investment projects through varied means and diversified efforts.
Authorities in Yancheng have launched the construction of a new drinking water source at the local section of the Grand Canal in a bid to provide safe and top quality drinking water for the local people.
A task group consisting of technicians from the urban-rural construction and water supply departments has been dispatched to the work site since last February to ensure the smooth progress of the project.
Upon its operation in June next year, the water supply project will provide top quality drinking water for some 5 million people in Yancheng.
62 large investment projects were launched early this year with a total investment of 79.3 billion yuan.
Authorities in Yancheng have spared no efforts since the start of this year to ensure the smooth progress of the large investment projects. A slew of preferential policies and favorable measures have been taken to help deal with the tough problems arising in the course of the construction.
As of early August, construction has been in full swing for the 52 large investment projects with 24.13 billion yuan of capital fulfilled, standing for an accomplishment rate of 95.2% and accounting for 70.9% of the annual projects to be fulfilled.
