The physical examination for the annual military conscript has got underway in Jiangsu province, attracting a large number of young people and college students as well.
More than 600 young people in Xinbei district of Changzhou have been shortlisted for the physical examination and 60% of them are college students.
College students also made up 60% of the 1500 eligible youth in Qidong County signing up for the physical examination’
The requirement for uncorrected vision is 4.6 for the right eye and 4.5 for the left eye.
The weight of the draftee should not be 30% over the standard body weight, according to the regulations.
China aims to draft more young people with high school diploma and above. Priority will be given to the draft of college graduates and students. Young people with high degrees and fresh college graduates will be preferred in the conscription.
