As the high temperatures continues in recent days, a "sanitation workers' watermelon festival" was held in Zhenjiang on July 25.
The organizer distributed 2585 kilograms of watermelon to 3500 frontline workers taking care of sanitation, municipal administration and street lamps, in gratitude for their hard work in the hot summer.
At the watermelon festival activity site, these workers were invited to eat watermelon together and participate in a watermelon eating competition.
At Zhenjiang Boxian park, volunteers sent watermelons to sanitation workers, staff at Management of Street lamps and Zhenjiang Management of Municipal Facilities.
Volunteer Zhang Zhenwei, a restaurant owner, said that the clean environment outside his restaurant would not be possible without the hard work of sanitation workers every day. "Without their hard work, there is no cleanliness for us, they are the greatest people in summer!"
