Chung Il-Hee was sent to Yangzhou by Korea’s IL-YANG Pharm. Co., Ltd. in May 1993. Now Yangzhou IL-YANG has embarked on a fast lane of development.
In the operation of this joint venture, the Chinese side once experienced financial difficulties, Chung stated to the Korean headquarters the efforts that the Chinese side had made and as a result, the Korean side determined to continue the cooperation with China. In early 2002, the joint venture once again encountered difficulties, and Chung convinced the Korean headquarters with his vision and detailed plan for the company.
In his administration, the company pays close attention to management and their market share has been rising; the company pays attention to the quality of staff and has sent staff to South Korea for technical training. The company emphasizes corporate culture and has created a harmonious family-like environment.
In addition, Chung also contributed to the development of cultural exchanges. He played an active role in the establishment of sister city relationship between Yangzhou City and Yongin City in South Korea. He is also actively involved in other exchange activities between China and South Korea.
Mr. Chung Il Hee has won a number of awards including the "Jiangsu Friendship Award", “Guest of Yangzhou City" and "Honorary Citizen of Gaoyou". In 2013, Mr. Chung Il Hee won the "4th Jiangsu Outstanding Entrepreneur Award". He is the first foreigner to win this title in Jiangsu Province.
