Hongqiao village in Juegang sub-district, Rudong county, Nantong, has won two provincial honors – Jiangsu Distinctive Rural Village and Jiangsu Leisure Tourism Three-Star Agricultural Park, for its efforts on developing distinctive industries and improving living environment.
The village has two economic sectors – the east one for industry development and the west one for modern agriculture. At present, it has four family farms, three farmers' professional cooperatives.
To guarantee the smooth development of modern agricultural projects, Hongqiao village strives to solve the problems of imperfect infrastructure, to further improve the living environment.
In recent years, the village has focused on building fruit and vegetable picking gardens, integrating the agricultural functions of fruit and vegetable growing and processing, promoting the deep integration of agriculture and tourism, education, culture, and building a whole industry chain of quality fruits and vegetables.
In 2019, the output value of agricultural planting and agricultural product processing industries of Hongqiao village reached 17.8 million yuan ($2.73 million) and 600 million yuan.
