East China’s Jiangsu province has rolled out a slew of supportive measures such as tax and rent reduction and job stability subsidies to help spur resumption of work and production.
North Machinery Co., Ltd., located in Zhuze Town, Liyang City, is a small and medium-sized enterprise specializing in ferrous metal casting and machining.

Being kept in the dark about the country’s supportive policies for the resumption of work and production in the post-epidemic period, the company turned to the local taxation bureau for help.
The taxation authority has in turn visited the company and made phone calls to facilitate tax refund totaling 192.6 thousand yuan in social insurance contribution, healthcare insurance and unemployment insurance.
The taxation bureau has exempted small and medium-sized enterprises from paying pensions, unemployment and work-related injuries and reduction of value-added tax for small-scale taxpayers.
The income tax payment for small and micro enterprises and individual industrial and commercial households will be postponed until next year.
It is expected that the annual tax and feeds reduction for the local enterprises will exceed 2.5 trillion yuan.
A sub-district government in Sihong County has reduced rents for the local micro and small firms so as to help them resume work and production.
The human resources authority in Yangzhou city has launched online job fairs to recruit 143 thousand workers for the local enterprises as of the end of May.
In the meantime, the social security authority has refunded 9295 enterprises 218 million yuan in job stability subsidies.
