A 2.3-kilometre transmission tunnel project is progressing smoothly.
Underground shield is preferred in the construction though it is more costly as the tunnel traverses the Pearl Spring Scenic Area.
Upon its operation, the tunnel will become an important route to transmit electricity from northwest China to the Jiangbei New Area of Nanjing by supplying 30% of the power.
The main body of the container terminal of the Taicang Port Phase IV project was completed with the hoisting track laid on the container yard and the site to be hardened soon.

The first fully automated container terminal in Jiangsu Province and along the Yangtze Riverwill use double cantilever automatic rail crane and automatic card collection to cut back on the workers needed by 70%, reduce the costs and ensure safety.
To be equipped with four 50 thousand-tonnage berths, the 1292-meter-long Phase IV project of the Taicang Port is designed with an annual handling capacity of 2 million TEUs. The 3.8-billion-yuan project is scheduled for operation in May 2021.
