East China’s Jiangsu province has continued its fight against COVID-19 with its top medical experts committed to the treatment of critically ill patients in Wuhan and sharing information on epidemic control with their foreign counterparts.

More than 100 severe and critically ill patients in Wuhan, the last batch of the COVID-19 patents there, have been placed under treatment in four designated hospitals.

A 20-member national team of medical experts are staying behind in Wuhan to continue with the treatment of the patients with life-threatening conditions.

Ten of the experts are from Southeast University Zhongda Hospital, Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital and North Jiangsu People’s Hospital.

We have formulated personalized treatment for each patient with one plan for one patient. We have also made rehabilitation of some patients at the same time.

On April 14, Yang Yi, director of the Department of Critical Care Medicine of Southeast University Zhongda Hospital, was sent to Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province, to guide the anti-epidemic battle there. She was dispatched by the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council.

She will join other critical care specialists sent to Mudanjiang by other provinces to supervise the treatment of the severe and critically ill COVID-19 patients transferred from Suifenhe city where many Chinese nationals have crossed the border to return from Russia.

I inspected the patients today in the ward where I analyzed and made judgement on the patients’ conditions so as to be aware of the likelihood of some patients developing into life-threatening conditions.
