The largest art museum under construction in China is about to become a new cultural landmark in the Jiangbei New Area of Nanjing.
In 2 days, under the lifting of 29 hydraulic robots, the steel structure weighing 8200 tons smoothly was hoisted to an altitude of 16 meters, signaling the completion of the most important step of the entire project-the main body upgrade, which also made it the most difficult in China.
The new building of the Nanjing Art Museum, which covers an area of nearly 100,000 square meters, is suspended above the main body on a pedestal composed of 4 giant columns in the shape of a "sky city".
Facing the rare construction difficulties in China, the contractor abandoned the conventional high-altitude subsection installation scheme and innovatively adopted "overall upgrade construction technology".
The construction of each part is completed on the ground before the steel structure main body is pulled up from the height by 29 hydraulic lifters, which makes the assembly more accurate and safer, and also saves the absolute construction period of 3 months.
During the construction process, the lifting capacity of 800 tons reached the top level in China. At the same time, an independently developed and fully-automatic synchronous lifting control system was used to control the lifting synchronization error to the margin of one millimeter, which has restored the beauty of the museum design to the greatest extent.
The new museum will highlight the local cultural characteristics of Jiangsu, provide a first-class display platform for all kinds of works, and also add a variety of service functions such as education, collection, research, communication, which will become an important new cultural landmark in Jiangbei New Area.
