Explorations are being made in various parts of Jiangsu Province to improve the environment of the villages and create a beautiful rural ecology in a bid to stimulate the popularity of the countryside and inject new energy into the rural revitalization strategy.
April is the prime time for villagers of Huanglongxian to pick the spring tea that is grown over the 133-hectare tea plantation. Urban dwellers have got used to visiting the hilly village with their friends to enjoy the leisure time while savoring the fragrance of the fresh spring tea.
Huanglongxian is known as one of the "Five Golden Flowers" in Nanjing's beautiful countryside. It is located in the hilly area, surrounded by green bamboo on the hills, a dozen or more reservoirs and ponds, and free from industrial pollution within a radius of 20 kilometers.
Take a walk along the tea culture street, the visitors could not help admiring the unique residential areas and visiting the farmers market when they are experiencing the authentic rustic farm life unique to Jiangnan, the areas to the south of the Yangtze River.
Although endowed with unique natural resources, Huanglongxian was virtually unknown to the outside world merely five or six years ago. the village was in a disorderly state due to the absence of planning and management and infrastructure investment, as is evidenced by the dilapidated houses, muddy roads and scattered locations of tea plantations.
Since 2013, the local government invited design and development companies to upgrade and revamp the village without destroying the surrounding environment. Old houses were renovated, roads were rebuilt, wireless network was installed, public toilets were built and the layout of the tea plantations was redesigned. The combination of the ecological environment with modernized facilities has made Huanglongxian more and more attractive to the outside world, which has in turn injected new vitality into the rural revitalization strategy.
To create a beautiful home for farmers to live and work in peace and contentment and make the ecological environment a supporting point for the rural revitalization strategy is what General Secretary Xi Jinping has expected for rejuvenation of rural ecology.
