The 300000th vehicle set sail on a roll on/roll off ship on Monday, setting a new record for annual vehicle exports at Lianyungang Port. Let’s take a close look.
In recent years, Lianyungang Port has taken advantage of its deep-water port and convenient waterway transportation to continuously explore railway and waterway intermodal transportation models so as to have provided more convenient and efficient services for the logistics of automobile exports.
From January to November 2023, 173000 vehicles passed through the port, an increase of 79.1% year-on-year.
“This year, we have added two new routes connecting West Africa and North America, expanded the routes connecting Southeast Asia and Russia, so that Lianyungang Port has established a global vehicle logistics network,” said Xu He, General Manager of Dongfang Port Branch of Lianyungang Port
Lianyungang has further improved the quality and efficiency of cargo loading and unloading, setting new records such as 351 units/hour roll on/roll off efficiency, 188 lifting vehicles, and 145 train unloading trucks day and night, enabling Lianyungang Port to become one of the important ports for China's automobile exports.
