SS Harmony Cloud Port departed from berth 69 of Lianyungang Port on Monday to head for Incheon, South Korea by carrying 629 passengers, marking the official resumption of Jiangsu's only passenger and cargo liner to South Korea after a four-year suspension.

At 1pm on Monday, 629 passengers from Jiangsu and Zhejiang arrived at Lianyungang Port International Passenger Station to complete customs clearance procedures before boarding the ship.

“Today, I came specifically to experience the feeling of going to South Korea by sea. Coincidentally, South Korea is also experiencing a discount season and the Chinese New Year is approaching. Therefore, I am going to South Korea to buy presents for my family and children,” said a passenger.

“For the first batch of outbound passengers, we have obtained passenger information in advance, scientifically formulated service plans, opened sufficient inspection channels, arranged for police officers to answer outbound inquiries, and ensured smooth customs clearance for passengers,” said Yu Yang, Political Instructor of the Duty Team of Lianyungang Entry Exit Border Inspection Station.

Built with 1080 passenger cabins and equipped with living and entertainment facilities, SS Harmony Cloud Port is currently one of the vessels in the China-South Korea passenger roll-off route with largest tonnage, most advanced facilities, and most luxurious operating capacity.

The Lianyungang Incheon route is operated twice a week, departing from Lianyungang on Mondays and Thursdays, and returning from Incheon on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with a sea voyage of approximately 23 hours.
