The Dacheng Hall of Nanjing Confucius Temple has started to exhibit lanterns with the theme of the Year of the Dragon in 2024. This year's lanterns were made by referring to traditional cultural elements such as auspicious clouds, cranes, and qilin, with exquisite and gorgeous designs, attracting many citizens and tourists.
Every year, the Qinhuai Lantern Festival lights up a festive atmosphere. In order to welcome the New Year holiday and the upcoming Spring Festival of the Year of the Dragon, the giant colored lanterns of the Confucius Temple featuring two dragons playing with pearls have been re-dressed.
The historical and cultural blocks to the east of Zhonghua Gate have carefully decorated more than 30 large lantern groups with varied themes ranging from celebrating the New Year with the twelve zodiac signs to presenting auspicious dragons and phoenixes, with over a dozen different shapes and expressions.
“I heard that there is a lantern exhibition at the Confucius Temple, and I was very interested, so I came over to take a look. The Year of the Dragon is approaching, which is in line with our traditional Chinese culture by effectively showcasing the culture of Jiangnan,” a tourist from Sichuan.
Benefiting from snowfall and sustained low temperatures, the Longfeng Valley Ski Resort located in Xueyan Town, Wujin District of Changzhou, which is the largest outdoor ski resort along the Shanghai-Nanjing Railway, has increased its areas by 40% and launched special teaching activities so as to allow more skiing enthusiasts to enjoy the speed and passion brought by ice and snow sports.
Indoor and outdoor ski resorts across the province are welcoming a large number of ice and snow enthusiasts, enabling citizens to enjoy a new experience of playing snow nearby.
“This indoor mini ski resort allows us to enjoy the fun of skiing without traveling afar, which has brought us a strong sense of technology. It is also safer to bring children here to experience skiing, so children love it,” said a resident of Huai’an City.
