Jiangsu donates supplies to quake-hit areas in Gansu, Qinghai

East China’s Jiangsu province continued to donate various supplies and materials to the earthquake-stricken areas in Jishishan County, northwest China’s Gansu Province and Minhe County in Qinghai Province. Let’s take a close look.

The headquarters of Jiangsu’s pairing-up support in Qinghai learned that the quake-hit areas are in urgent need of temporary prefabricated houses to help the quake victims keep warm in the freezing weather.

After the housing and urban-rural development department in Nantong has issued an initiative, Nantong-based construction companies wasted no time to raise funds and donate 100 sets of prefabricated houses to the Qinghai quake-stricken zones.

The construction team set up by the Northwest Branch of Tongzhou Construction Company in Nantong arrived in Gangou Township, Haidong City, Qinghai Province on Saturday, with plans to build 100 prefabricated houses for two villages.

“We will build a temporary home to ensure they have access to warmth in this harsh winter,” said Yuan Dongbo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Qidong Construction Group Co., Ltd.

Enterprises in Wuxi have donated to the earthquake-stricken areas in Gansu and Qinghai over 700-thousand-yuan worth of supplies, including inflatable mattresses, sleeping bags, and disposable bedding sets.

Textile enterprise in Lianyungang have sent blankets worth 2 million yuan to the disaster areas in Gansu and Qinghai.

“We donated to the people in the disaster areas the blankets we were preparing to export and delivered them to them as quickly as possible,” said Zhang Jianguo, Executive Chairman of Lianyungang Yingyou Textile Machinery Group Co., Ltd.

Enterprises in Xuzhou donated 338 thousand yuan of supplies to the people in the earthquake-stricken areas of Gansu and Qinghai, including military coats, military blankets, military cotton shoes, milk, instant noodles, and rice.

Kunshan has sent cold-resistant supplies to the people in the quake-hit areas in Gansu and Qinghai.

“Due to the cold weather, many families in the quake-hit areas are in urgent need of these supplies,” said Wang Haibo, President of the Xuzhou Veterans Entrepreneurs Association.
