The Australia Nanjing General Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 10th anniversary at a ceremony held on Friday. A branch venue was set up in Melbourne, Australia.
Among the leaders addressing the ceremony were Qian Weibing, Vice Chairman of the Nanjing Federation of Industry and Commerce, Wang Ning, President of the Australia Nanjing General Chamber of Commerce, and Chen Kuanyou, Executive Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce.
Counselor Bian Changzheng of the Chinese Consulate General in Melbourne congratulated the Chamber of Commerce on its 10th anniversary through a video speech.
Jiangsu General Chamber of Commerce, Federation Of Jiangsu Returned Overseas Chinese, as well as overseas Chinese organizations and chambers of commerce, sent congratulatory letters and telegrams.
Lectures were held at the ceremony concerning "APEC Business Travel Card Policy" and "Exit and Entry Administration Laws" in a bid to help enterprises carry out foreign cooperation in the new situation.
The Nanjing Chamber of Commerce in Australia is a non-profit social organization voluntarily formed by enterprises and entrepreneurs from Nanjing and its surrounding cities who have settled and invested in Australia. With about 700 members, the federation expands into a wide range of business fields such as economy and trade, finance, education, culture and tourism, manufacturing, and agriculture.
Since its establishment in 2013, the Nanjing Chamber of Commerce in Australia has been committed to making contributions to promoting economic, trade, technological, and cultural exchanges between China and Australia.
“Our Chamber of Commerce regards the economic and trade relations and cultural exchanges between China and Australia as a very important foothold for us. We have organized many economic and trade activities related to China and Australia, including the China Australia Economic and Trade Week. We have also highlighted strengthening cultural exchanges, telling Chinese stories well, and spreading the voice of China to Australia and the rest of the world,” said Wang Ning, President of the Australia Nanjing General Chamber of Commerce.
“The Australia Nanjing General Chamber of Commerce serves as a platform, giving us a sense of security like a big family overseas, while establishing a bridge and bond between Australia and Nanjing. I think we will develop even better in the future,” said Guo Xiuli, Vice President of the Australia Nanjing General Chamber of Commerce, CEO of Xiuli International Pty. Ltd. Australia.
“Although we are called the Chamber of Commerce, we are not only engaged in business but also in the education of the next generation. As more and more children from Nanjing go to Australia, we have a series of mentoring activities that I think have profound significance,” said Liang Yiheng, Executive Vice President of the Australia Nanjing General Chamber of Commerce.
