Facing severe situations such as sluggish markets and insufficient domestic and foreign demand, east China’s Jiangsu province, a major industrial powerhouse has proactively laid out advanced manufacturing industries and steadfastly promoted the construction of major industrial projects so as to have enhanced the competitiveness of the province’s manufacturing industry towards domestic and foreign markets and the future.
The lighthouse factory of Hengtong Fiber Optic Co., Ltd., located in Wujiang District of Suzhou, is filled with busy scenes of intelligent production.
At the end of the year, with the promotion of intelligence and informatization, the manufacturing enterprises in Jiangsu are making the final spurt to fulfill orders and expedite production in a bid to achieve the annual tasks.
“We will continue to increase the technological transformation of equipment, accelerate the debugging and production of equipment, and ensure that the company achieves its annual production target of 340 million yuan,” said Li Yinxian, Deputy General Manager of Jiangsu Spacecraft Co., Ltd.
“Time is life. Since the new production line was put into operation, our company has been focusing on production speed, racing against time for construction. For existing orders, workers have worked overtime and gathered full heat for production. Currently, we have recorded invoicing sales of over 100 million yuan,” said Dai Danghui, General Manager of Jiangsu Dexin Pipeline Technology Co., Ltd.
Since the beginning of this year, Jiangsu has made every effort to promote intelligent renovation and digital transformation. As of the end of October, about 19 thousand enterprises had implemented about 50 thousand projects, enabling Jiangsu to rank first in the country for eight consecutive years in the integration of information technology and industrialization, and topped the country in the high-quality development index of the manufacturing industry for three consecutive years.
While improving stock and efficiency, Jiangsu has accelerated the cultivation of new industrial economic growth engines. In late October, XCMG Group rolled off the assembly line China's first commercial vehicle and construction machinery power battery, marking XCMG’s entry into the new energy track.
The project, with a total investment of about 1 billion yuan, plans four power battery pack packaging production lines. In just four months, it has achieved factory delivery, production line connectivity, and product offline. Compared to the industry's average construction cycle, this project was completed 2 months ahead of schedule. The annual output value of the project is expected to exceed 10 billion yuan.
“The X01 power battery released this time is jointly developed by XCMG Group and BYD, with advantages such as low expansion rate, low thermal diffusion rate, and high space utilization rate. It can widely cover application scenarios such as heavy trucks, light trucks, and cranes,” said Zhang Huaqing, Deputy General Manager of Xuzhou XCMG New Energy Power Technology Co., Ltd.
As of the end of October, 500 major industrial projects in Jiangsu had completed their annual investment targets two months ahead of schedule. By the end of November, 117 projects had been put into operation, one month ahead of schedule.
The operating income of 16 emerging industry clusters accounts for 70% of the province's total, including 10 clusters that have entered the national advanced manufacturing industry and smart grids, and crystalline silicon photovoltaics that have reached international advanced levels. From January to October, the province’s added value of industries above designated size increased by 7.4% year-on-year, continuing to lead the developed coastal provinces in the east.
