Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province will have 28 more parks by 2035, according to a plan recently released by local authorities.

Currently, the existing parks are not evenly distributed in the city's districts with most located in Binhu district.

The planned 28 parks include 24 comprehensive parks and four specialized parks.

The former have a designed area of about 3,287 hectares in total and will be mainly established in Xishan, Huishan, and Xinwu districts while the latter include an Olympic Sports Park, a Liangtang River Ecological Park, a Wuxi Taihu Botanical Garden, and a Dayaolu Ruins Park.

Parks at communities are the best way to positively affect local residents' daily lives. Therefore, local authorities have designed 126 community parks each with an area of more than 5 hectares and equipped with sporting and entertainment facilities.

The plan also proposes to create 18 cultural parks, 18 children-friendly parks, 18 sports parks, and five technology-themed parks by 2035.

To enable Wuxi residents to appreciate flowers in four seasons, local authorities plan to create 10 parks for admiring flowers, including Shangxian River Park, Meili Park, and Jiangnan Canal Culture Park, which are to be sown with flowers of all four seasons.
