40 teams from around the world gathered in Nanjing on Wednesday afternoon for a cybersecurity showdown as the 6th "Strong Internet" Imitation Defense International Elite Challenge kicked off at the Purple Mountain Laboratory.

The digital system mimetic defense technology is a cyber security defense technology proposed by the team of Academician Wu Jiangxing from Purple Mountain Laboratory in 2013.

In 2016, the world's first endogenous security principle verification system based on mimetic construction was successfully developed, creating a new paradigm for network security on the design and manufacturing sides.

In order to test the security of mimicry defense technology and products, Purple Mountain Laboratory has been hosting the "Strong Internet" mimicry defense international elite challenge since 2018 by inviting global "white hat" hackers to conduct attack and defense tests on endogenous security digital products through mass testing.

This year, a total of 40 elite domestic and foreign teams gathered offline to start a high-intensity 72-hour showdown by focusing on four tracks that include the Internet, the Internet of Vehicles, artificial intelligence, and smartphones.

“Through this competition, we have tested over 20 categories and over 40 types of digital infrastructure products, basically covering the vast majority of the information and communication field. The competition results have prompted equipment manufacturers to continuously improve and enhance product quality, thereby playing a demonstrative and leading role in cultivating China's digital industry by empowering cyber resilience with endogenous security,” said Wu Jiangxing, Academician of CAE Member, Deputy Director and Chief Scientist of Purple Mountain Laboratory.
