Xin Changxing, Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, requested further efforts to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the symposium on further promoting high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, so as to better support the new practice of the Chinese path to modernization in Jiangsu. He made the remarks at the provincial leadership group meeting to promote the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt held on Thursday. Xin Changxing pointed out that the significant changes that have occurred in the implementation of the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt in the past 8 years are fully reflected in the Jiangsu section, as is evidenced by the ecological changes along the river and the protection of the green mountains and clear waters, and more importantly, the fundamental change of the development concept, the transformation of the development mode, and the momentum of development so that the province has achieved coordinated progress between ecological environment protection and economic and social development.
The significant changes brought about by the ecological protection of the Jiangsu section of the Yangtze River fully demonstrate the truth and practical power of the General Secretary's strategic thinking in promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, which has further promoted the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. As a province downstream of the Yangtze River and an important part of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, Jiangsu will firmly promote the further implementation of the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
Xin Changxing emphasized that the ecological environment protection and high-quality development in the Yangtze River Basin are in a critical period from quantitative to qualitative changes. Therefore, it is necessary to prioritize the strengthening of ecological protection, high-level promotion of front-end control of pollution control, consolidation of the achievements of the Yangtze River fishing ban, compliance with regulations for ecological restoration, zoning and control of the ecological environment, and high-level protection of the Yangtze River culture.
He demanded the Jiangsu section of the Yangtze River strive to create a high-quality development pioneer and demonstration section, continuously enhance the leading and driving force of development, firmly follow the path of green development, and use more reform ideas, technological strength, and transformation methods to cultivate new drivers of green and low-carbon development.
Xin Changxing required Jiangsu to actively strengthen collaboration and integration, strengthen cooperation and coordinated development with provinces in the upstream and midstream of the Yangtze River, accelerate the construction of comprehensive three-dimensional transportation corridors, ecological communities, and interest communities along the Yangtze River, further consolidate the foundation of safe development, effectively maintain national food security, energy security, important industrial and supply chain security, and water security, and promote overall security with regional stability.
Xu Kunlin requested that Jiangsu focus on its important position in the country and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, coordinate the promotion of ecological environment protection and economic and social development, strengthen the promotion of various key tasks, and answer the questions of the times with tangible results and deliver excellent answers.
