On Sunday morning, accompanied by Xin Changxing, Jiangsu Provincial Party Secretary and Governor Xu Kunlin, Xi Jinping visited the New Fourth Army Memorial Hall in Yancheng City.
In the exhibition hall, photos, historical materials, cultural relics, and simulated scenes showcased the glorious history of the New Fourth Army's rebirth and bloody struggle.
Xi Jinping emphasized that the history of the New Fourth Army fully demonstrates that the people's hearts determine the choice of history, and the country is the people, and the people are the country.
Xi added that the history of the New Fourth Army is a vivid teaching material for carrying out revolutionary tradition education and patriotism education, therefore we should make good use of this teaching material, educate and guide party members and cadres to inherit and carry forward the spirit of challenging difficulties, daring to struggle for victory by relying on the people and continuously pushing forward the great cause of building a strong country for national rejuvenation.
The New Fourth Army Memorial Hall is the only memorial hall in China that reflects the entire history of the communist-led New Fourth Army. Opened in 1986, it has a collection of over 10000 cultural relics, historical materials, and other materials related to the New Fourth Army's resistance against Japanese aggression during World War II.
