East China’s Jiangsu province has made every effort to support Shanghai to play its leading role in the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta by strengthening coordination with Zhejiang and Anhui so as to have promoted the transformation of blueprint planning into a realistic picture in a series of reform practices.
At the National Innovation Center in the Yangtze River Delta, experts from Shanghai and Jiangsu have collaborated to incubate, land, and put into production an advanced low-carbon and environmentally friendly material.
By relying on hydrothermal and mineralization technologies, this technology can convert a large amount of carbon dioxide smoke generated by high carbon emission industries into green new materials for making building materials and stone. At present, this technology has been applied in Jinhua city of Zhejiang province and Hefei city of Anhui province.
“By adding solid waste to carbon dioxide to make some stone materials, we believe that the performance is better than that of stone materials directly selected from nature. This technology has a strong leading advantage both domestically and internationally,” said Ren Tianbin, Director, Institute of Organic Functional Materials and Application Technology, Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute.
Thanks to the new opportunities brought by the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, Jiangsu has continuously deepened its cooperation with Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Anhui to create a science and technology innovation ecosystem.
The integrated operation of the Yangtze River Delta Science and Technology Innovation Community has launched the first batch of 15 joint research projects. The jointly built Yangtze River Delta National Technology Innovation Center has provided solutions to the technological needs of 533 enterprises.
The Yangtze River Delta technology resource sharing service platform has been put into operation, continuously promoting the transfer and transformation of cross regional scientific and technological achievements. Since 2020, Jiangsu has exported technology contracts to Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Anhui with a transaction volume exceeding 100 billion yuan.
“We hope to establish an integrated industrial technology innovation system in the Yangtze River Delta by integrating innovative resources, research and development carriers, and industrial demand, so as to focus on building a globally influential industrial technology innovation center,” said Liu Qing, Dean of Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute and Director of the Yangtze River Delta National Technology Innovation Center.
Integration has accelerated the development of the science and technology innovation industry in the Yangtze River Delta, and has also pushed for the breaking of administrative barriers between regions in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui.
“We have made significant progress in approval through coordination, communication, and consultation mechanisms, achieving the goal of starting construction immediately upon land acquisition,” said Zhu Yiyuan, General Manager of New Development and Construction Co., Ltd. in the Yangtze River Delta Integrated Demonstration Zone.
The Yangtze River Delta Integration Demonstration Zone has formed 112 institutional innovation achievements, of which 38 innovation achievements have been replicated and promoted to the Yangtze River Delta and even the whole country.
