The documentary "When Socrates Meets Confucius", co-produced by Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation and a well-known Greek media team, was launched in Nanjing on Tuesday.
The documentary, based on the best-selling book "When Socrates Meets Confucius" by Greek author Dr. Christos Kafteranis, is planned to produce six episodes in the form of an explorative and humanistic documentary. Each episode features a "dialogue spanning time and space" between a Greek thinker and a Chinese thinker by following the footsteps of ancient sages, exploring historical relics, telling stories of ancient philosophers, and perceiving the wisdom shared by the two civilizations. Sponsored by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the Chinese Embassy in Greece, and the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports,this documentary will present to the world a model of cultural exchange and mutual learning through dialogue of ideas.
