Jiangsu Provincial Party and Government Delegation visited south China’s Guangdong province Monday and Tuesday in a bid to promote the cooperation between Jiangsu and Guangdong towards higher levels and wider fields. Huang Kunming, Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, Wang Weizhong, Governor of Guangdong, and Meng Fanli, Deputy Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee, met the Jiangsu delegation which is headed by the provincial party chief Xin Changxing and governor Xu Kunlin.
At the symposium held in Guangzhou on Tuesday afternoon, Huang Kunming, on behalf of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Government, welcomed the visit of the Jiangsu Provincial Party and Government delegation and expressed his gratitude for Jiangsu's long-term strong support to Guangdong.
He said that Jiangsu holds an important position and contributes greatly to the overall development of the country. Since this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping has made many important speeches and instructions on promoting the work in Jiangsu. The CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and the provincial government have insisted on taking "taking the lead in promoting the Chinese path to modernization and making demonstrations" as the main theme and goal guidance for planning and promoting Jiangsu's modernization, grasped the key work in 10 aspects, and made new and solid steps in various undertakings.
He said that Guangdong would actively learn from the good experience and good practices of Jiangsu in promoting high-quality development, learn from and implement the important speeches and instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping when he visited Guangdong, adhere to the guidance of high-quality development, implement the specific deployment of the provincial party committee, and steadily promote the practice of the Chinese path to modernization in Guangdong.
Huang Kunming hoped that Guangdong and Jiangsu would work together to better grasp the inherent requirements of promoting new industrialization, improve industrial layout, promote the security and stability of the industrial chain and supply chain, jointly enhance the level of industrial development, and promote the deepening and implementation of industrial cooperation between the two provinces.
He said that cooperation between the two regions in the future should focus on better grasping the major opportunities of the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, supporting innovation entities in the two provinces to carry out joint research on key core technologies and other industry university research cooperation, transforming more innovative achievements into practical productivity, and promoting the deepening and implementation of scientific and technological innovation cooperation between the two provinces.
In the meantime, both sides should focus on deepening cooperation in the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, and the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, strengthen reform and mutual learning in key areas, strengthen collaborative progress in the construction of free trade zones, promote the construction and sharing of open platforms, and promote the deepening and implementation of reform and opening up cooperation between the two provinces.
Huang Kunming stated that future cooperation must focus on better grasping the rich connotations of building modern civilization of the Chinese nation, working together to promote the creative transformation and innovative development of excellent traditional culture, and promoting the deepening and implementation of cultural construction cooperation between the two provinces.
Xin Changxing said that Guangdong is the pacesetter, pioneer and experimental area of China's reform and opening up, and plays an important and prominent role in the overall situation of the Chinese path to modernization. After visiting Hong Kong and Macao, the Jiangsu delegation went to Guangdong to study and explore, in order to fully experience the great efforts, momentum, and high-level level of the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area.
He said that stepping on the new journey of the Chinese path to modernization, Jiangsu and Guangdong both shoulder the glorious mission entrusted by General Secretary Xi Jinping, making it of great significance and responsibility to deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two provinces.
Jiangsu will take Guangdong as an example to promote technological innovation, optimize the business environment, promote regional coordinated development, deepen cooperation between the two regions around national major strategies, complement Guangdong's advantages in more fields, and work together to promote high-quality development and better serve the overall development of the country.
