Series of sub events of the third Cross Strait Youth Culture Month were held Saturday and Sunday in Suzhou. Young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait visited various places to exchange ideas and learn from each other around such topics as rural revitalization and innovation and entrepreneurship.
The first cross-strait agricultural cultural exchange event held in Qiandeng Town, Kunshan city, attracted over 600 athletes of 34 teams from Jilin, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Tibet, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
Young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait experience the beauty of agricultural culture and the extraordinary charm of rural revitalization through various exciting activities such as rushing to harvest rice ears, pumping water for drought resistance, harvesting grains in the sun, and working together to grind flour.
At the third "Chinese New Farmers" Story Conference and Cross-Strait Youth Farmers Exchange Activity held in Changshu, fifteen farmers took the stage to share their stories of taking root in rural areas. Three Taiwanese youth were invited to share their achievements in entrepreneurship in mainland China for many years.
“This time we can experience different folk customs and cultures, and see each unique style of Jiangnan Ancient Village, which makes us feel quite special”, Chen Zequan, a Taiwanese Youth, said.
“I heard a Taiwanese youth share the story of his entrepreneurship and rural revitalization in Jiangsu. I can particularly feel that many young people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait can come here for development. Now, the country is vigorously promoting the policy of rural revitalization and has made very good demonstrations. I particularly believe that this is the direction we need to work together to develop in the future, and to help us with rural revitalization”, Chen Wencheng, a Taiwanese Teacher from the Department of Physical Education and Research at Peking University, said.
The 6th Cross-Strait Kunshan Youth Cultural and Creative Design Competition was also officially launched.
This summit has arranged themed forums, talent exchange and other activities, in addition to adding immersive city tours and cultural experiences so as to further enhance the sense of participation and acquisition among young people in Jiangsu and Taiwan.
