296 dead in Morocco earthquake: authorities

RABAT, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- The death toll from a strong earthquake that struck Morocco Friday night has risen to 296, the country's Interior Ministry said. A 6.8-magnitude earthquake jolted Morocco at 11:11 p.m. local time (2211 GMT), according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
