Primary and secondary schools in East China’s Jiangsu province ushered in the first week of the new semester. Let’s take a close look.
Early in the morning, many primary schools in Changzhou and Lianyungang welcomed the first-year students. The teachers gave the students good blessings, while in a ceremony full of love, the children set rules and freeze-framed the unforgettable moment.
“Congratulations on becoming a primary school student. I am your class advisor teacher Xu”, a first grade teacher at Xiangmei Primary School in Changzhou City, said.
“Today I will become a primary school student, and from now on I will become an adult”, Cheng Yihan, a pupil, said.
For 50 students from Hainan Prefecture of northwest China’s Qinghai province, the new semester marks the beginning of three years of study and life in Jiangsu. The first "Nantong Qinghai Class", a Jiangsu-Qinghai paired-up support and collaboration project, opened its first class at the Affiliated High School of Nantong University.
Everyone wore traditional holiday attire with excitement written on everyone's faces. In the future, Nantong will recruit 50 students from Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai every year.
“As a class monitor, I hope to work together with my friends in the next three years to study so as to strive to be admitted to a good university, and then go back to build a beautiful Qinghai”, Monitor of the "Nantong Qinghai Class" at Nantong University Affiliated High School, said.
More children have started a colorful new semester in immersive classrooms. Students of Nanjing Academy of Juvenile Sciences gazed at the stars at the Zijinshan Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and learned about the development of communication technology in the Zijinshan Laboratory of Cyber Communication and Security.
Middle school students in Jinhu County participated in a simulated trial of a minor traffic accident liability dispute in the local people's court, intuitively experiencing the authority of the law and the importance of traffic safety.
