Xu Kunlin, governor of east China’s Jiangsu province, urged Lianyungang to promote high-quality development of the marine economy by making earnest implementation of the important speech made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the work of Jiangsu, fully and accurately implement the new development concept, focus on the primary task of high-quality development and the strategic task of building a new development pattern. He made the remarks when going on an inspection tour in Lianyungang city.
When inspecting Hankou Fishing Port in Shiqiao Town, Ganyu District, Xu Kunlin conducted detailed exchanges with local fishermen to learn about the work on fishing by pointing out that Lianyungang has unique inherent conditions for developing marine fisheries.
He requested Lianyungang to optimize the production mode of marine fisheries, promote the expansion of ocean fishing from near sea to high seas, accelerate the construction of a professional marine product fishing and processing industry chain, focus on improving marketing capabilities such as online e-commerce and livestreaming, expand the distribution channels of aquatic products, and help more people to get rich through income growth.
Noting that that ocean is a strategic place for high-quality development, Xu Kunlin asked Lianyungang to give full play to its role as the intersection of “the Belt and Road”, enhance the competitiveness of the modern marine industry system, promote the marine industry to move forward into emerging sectors, upgrade the specialty industries to the high-end of the value chain, and transform the heavy chemical industry towards green and low-carbon oriented, so as to strive to take the lead in the development of the coastal areas.
When visiting Jiangsu Tianyan Technology Company and Lianyungang Shenzhou New Energy Company, Xu Kunlin hoped that the enterprises would continue to increase its R&D efforts, strive to explore international and domestic markets, attract more upstream and downstream enterprises, and form a multiplication effect of industrial development.
During his inspection tour, Xu Kunlin asked local leaders to continuously optimize the business environment, enhance comprehensive service and industrial supporting capabilities, actively respond to the enterprises’ demands and expectations, effectively help solve the difficulties encountered in the course of development, comprehensively undertake and implement a series of national and provincial policies and measures to promote high-quality development.
