East China’s Jiangsu province has recorded nation’s first in the number of RCEP certificate and the value of goods exported since the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement came into full force for 15 signatories.
According to the statistics of Nanjing Customs, in the first half of the year, Nanjing Customs issued 50500 RCEP certificate of origin, with total export value of 16.666 billion yuan, up 44.80% and 13.05% year on year respectively. The RCEP certificate of origin has enabled enterprises in Jiangsu to enjoy tariff preference of 250 million yuan in the destination country.
In the meantime, enterprises in Jiangsu enjoyed a preferential import value of 8.97 billion yuan under RCEP, with a tariff discount of 185 million yuan, an increase of 90.95% and 104.75% year-on-year, respectively.
Since this year, Nanjing Customs has carried out special training on RCEP for enterprises to help them master the procedures for applying for certificate of origin and enjoying benefits from imports and exports, and strengthened the tracking of the implementation effect of RCEP for exports of various commodities ranging from mechanical engineering and chemical raw materials to daily necessities.
Jiangsu will continue to provide a one-stop service for quick query and determination of the optimal tax rate and rules of origin under the RECP agreement.
Jiangsu will also comprehensively implement measures to facilitate origin visas, such as self-service printing and intelligent verification, to help enterprises expand their export space through RCEP, further promote the high-quality implementation of RCEP, and promote the stable scale and optimal structure of the province's foreign trade.
