Various measures have been taken by various regions in Jiangsu to promote summer practice for college students so that college students can contribute their youthful energy in rural and community settings.
This summer, the Chinese medicine youth team is one of the key teams Yangzhou University has sent to the rural areas for summer social practice. Students from the Medical College of Yangzhou University formed a Chinese medicine science popularization practice team to carry out free clinic services in communities and villages by giving full play to that they have learned.
“We can promote traditional Chinese medicine knowledge to the people, introduce our methods and effects of traditional Chinese medicine treatment, and achieve what kind of results can be achieved so as to truly achieve the dissemination of traditional Chinese medicine among the people”, Sun Yan, Head of Chinese medicine youth team, Yangzhou University, said.
This summer, more than 20000 college volunteers from Yangzhou University were dispatched to all parts of China to carry out practical activities by organizing 2209 practice teams around nine major themes, including "rural revitalization" and "innovation and entrepreneurship". At the same time, Yangzhou University mobilized students to create and design with the theme of characteristic industries, customs and ecological construction in Hanjiang District of Yangzhou.
“We hope to help students understand and serve rural areas by conducting practical activities in rural areas. We aim to further contribute to rural revitalization, enhance our abilities, and contribute our youthful strength to the Party's rural revitalization cause in social practice”, Wang Min, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee of Yangzhou University, said.
Xiangshan Sub-district of Jingkou District, Zhenjiang City, joined hands with the Law School of Jiangsu University to establish a social practice station in the community. 33 student volunteers from the Law School of Jiangsu University, led by the teachers and social workers of the school, carried out anti-fraud theme publicity activities. In one recent morning, the students distributing over 200 anti-fraud promotional materials by visiting a total of 32 shops and more than 60 residents.
The Social Practice Station is a new model of social governance jointly explored by Xiangshan Sub-district and the Law School of Jiangsu University with a view to enabling more than 30 law majors to go out of the campus, using their professional theoretical knowledge learned in school to better serve the society, and showcasing the vitality of contemporary college students.
