The city of Nanjing kicked off the final of its annual edition of the Overseas Talent Entrepreneurship Competition on Tuesday. Let’s take a close look.
The 2023 Overseas Talent Entrepreneurship Competition was held in Europe, Asia, and North America as overseas sub-venues, as well as Shanghai as the domestic sub-venue. The competition focuses on “2+6+6” innovative industrial clusters, smart cockpit curved surface flexible 3D holographic interactive transparent display, and virtual simulation industrial metaverse applications, which are highly consistent with the development direction of key industries in Nanjing.
“Our main market direction for screens now is for automotive applications, and there are over a hundred intellectual property layouts for this transparent screen. Currently, we have applied for more than 20 of them”, Gu Xuelian, Contestant of smart cockpit curved flexible 3D holographic interactive transparent display project, said.
Nanjing has held overseas talent entrepreneurship competitions for 11 consecutive years, attracting more than 3100 overseas talents from 27 countries and regions. 220 people have won the finals awards, 96 people have received funding from the Nanjing Key Talent Introduction Program, and technology enterprises founded by more than 130 people have settled in Nanjing.
“We have included the award-winning contestants in the competition as Class D talents, so that they are eligible to enjoy a series of supportive policies such as housing rental subsidies. We will also recommend them to be included in the Purple Mountain Talent Program in Nanjing so as to provide some key or personalized support”, Chen Ping, Director of Human Resources Development and Mobility Management Department of Nanjing Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, said.
