The Rural Work Leading Group of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China held a meeting on Wednesday. Deng Xiuming, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Committee, presided over the meeting.
The meeting conveyed General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech and instructions on the work of agriculture, rural areas, and farmers, as well as the requirements of relevant central documents.
Deng Xiuming pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping has attached great importance to the development of agriculture, rural areas, and farmers. Since the beginning of this year, he has pointed out the direction and provided us with guidance by putting forward clear requirements for ensuring food security, promoting urban-rural integration, and deepening the improvement of rural living environment.
The "Ten Million Project" is a major decision personally planned, deployed, and continuously promoted by General Secretary Xi Jinping in Zhejiang, which has profoundly changed the rural landscape of Zhejiang, making it necessary for Jiangsu to carefully study and apply the experience of the "Ten Million Project" and use it as a case study textbook for the education campaign on study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era so as to guide various regions to solidly improve rural living environment and comprehensively revitalize rural areas.
Deng Xiuming called for strengthening overall planning and systematic promotion, accelerating the formulation of plans for the making of a strong agricultural province, and effectively strengthening the construction of major agricultural and rural projects such as summer harvest and summer planting, flood control and drought relief, to ensure abundant summer grain harvest, safe flood season, and vibrant rural development.
