The Third Session of the Standing Committee of the 14th Provincial People's Congress opened Monday morning in Nanjing. Xin Changxing, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, presided over the first plenary meeting.
Present at the meeting were Vice Chairpersons of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress Fan Jinlong, Wei Guoqiang, Qu Futian, Zhou Guangzhi, and Secretary General Chen Jiangang.
Executive Vice Governor Ma Xin attended the meeting to give relevant explanations. Xia Xinmin, Vice Governor of Jiangsu, Xia Daohu, President of the Provincial Court, and leaders of the Provincial Procuratorate and Provincial Supervision Commission attended the meeting as non-voting delegates.
The Chairpersons Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, the Provincial Government, the Provincial Court, and the Provincial Procuratorate respectively submitted personnel appointment and removal cases to the meeting.
The provincial government submitted proposals for the review of the Revised Draft of the Jiangsu Province Community Correction Work Regulations, the Draft of Jiangsu Province Family Farm Promotion Regulations, and the Draft of Jiangsu Province Foreign Investment Regulations.
Leaders of the Provincial Department of Justice, Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Provincial Department of Commerce made explanations. The Provincial People's Congress Supervision and Judicial Commission, the Agriculture Commission, and the Ethnic, Religious, and Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission respectively submitted review reports.
The head of the Provincial Department of Transportation delivered a report on the construction of a strong transportation province, and the Financial and Economic Commission of the Provincial People's Congress submitted a research report respectively.
Qu Futian, on behalf of the Law Enforcement Inspection Team of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, made a report on the inspection of the implementation of the Regulations on the Prevention and Control of Water Pollution in Taihu Lake, Jiangsu Province.
Zhou Guangzhi, on behalf of the Law Enforcement Inspection Team of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, delivered a report on the inspection of the implementation of the Jiangsu Provincial Regulations on Religious Affairs.
The leader of the Social Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, on behalf of the Law Enforcement Inspection Group of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, delivered a report on the inspection of the implementation of the "Regulations on Letters and Visits in Jiangsu Province".
The Standing Committees of the People's Congress of Nanjing and some other cities submitted 7 regulations and regulatory decisions for review and approval.
