Xin Changxing, the Party Chief of east China’s Jiangsu province, met Tuesday in Nanjing with a delegation from the Third Wednesday Club, the largest social enterprise coalition in Taiwan.
On behalf of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Government, Xin Changxing welcomed the visit of the Taiwan delegation to Jiangsu to seek friendship and common development, adding that the development of Jiangsu has always been inseparable from the active participation and strong support of Taiwanese businessmen and enterprises.
He said that since the beginning of this year, Jiangsu and Taiwan have maintained good momentum and vitality in the economic and trade cooperation, as is evidenced by the recent participation in the Jiangsu Development Summit by Taiwanese businesspersons who have provided advice and suggestions for high-quality development in Jiangsu and given a strong impetus to the integrated development of the economy between Jiangsu and Taiwan.
The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee said that peace, development, exchange, and cooperation are the common aspirations of the compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, adding that Jiangsu is promoting the study and implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech on Jiangsu's work by adhering to the overall tone of seeking progress while maintaining stability, and striving to promote high-quality development to ensure that the province will continue to be at the forefront in the country.
Noting that the Third Wednesday Club is an influential social enterprise coalition in Taiwan with many members having played active role in the promotion of in-depth economic and trade cooperation with Jiangsu, Xin Changxing hoped that both sides of the Taiwan Strait will work together to promote the deep integration of the innovation chain, industry chain, capital chain, and talent chain in Jiangsu and Taiwan, and work together to promote cultural and educational exchanges and cooperation between the two sides, especially for mutual learning among young people so as to jointly strengthen the Chinese nation's economy, promote the spiritual harmony of compatriots, and contribute more to promoting the peaceful development of cross-strait relations and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Jiangsu will create better conditions and provide more convenience to ensure that Taiwanese businessmen, enterprises, and young talents from Taiwan can showcase their talents and realize their dreams in Jiangsu.
Lin Por-Fong, Chairman of the Third Wednesday Club, and Gao Guolun, Vice Chairman of the Chinese National Association of Industry & Commerce, thanked Jiangsu for its support and care for Taiwanese businesses and enterprises.
They remarked that the Third Wednesday Club and the Chairman of the Chinese National Association of Industry & Commerce will further play a role as a bridge and link by leading member enterprises to extensively participate in high-quality development and modernization construction in Jiangsu, promoting multi-disciplinary exchanges and cooperation between Jiangsu and Taiwan, and jointly promoting the peaceful development of the cross-strait relations.
