9 counties or county level cities in east China’s Jiangsu province ranked the list of the national level innovative counties, according to a list released by the Ministry of Science and Technology recently.
The counties or county-level cities included in the national list are Yixing City, Liyang City, Taicang City, Rugao City, Donghai County, Dongtai City, Gaoyou City, Danyang City and Taixing City.
Two are located in northern Jiangsu, three are located in central Jiangsu, and four are located in southern Jiangsu, achieving the construction goals of breakthroughs in northern Jiangsu, the rise of central Jiangsu, and the upgrading of southern Jiangsu and creating distinctive county-level innovation driven development benchmarks in different regions.
Seven of the nine national innovation counties or county-level cities have carried out construction with science and technology supporting industrial development as the theme, and two have carried out construction with science and technology supporting ecological civilization as the theme, reflecting the comprehensive support of scientific and technological innovation for economic and social development.
The latest ranking has added the number of national level innovative counties in Jiangsu to a total of 14, continuing to rank first in the country.
