He said in recent years, the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government of the Communist Party of China have studied the Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, implemented the central government’s major strategic decisions and policies on the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, made every effort to promote the improvement of the Yangtze River’s ecological environment, and promoted a comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development, as is evidenced by the fact that a turning change has taken place in the ecological and environmental protection of the Yangtze River, and historic achievements have been made in economic and social development.
Carrying out a special democratic supervision under the theme of ecological and environmental protection of the Yangtze River is a major policy made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, the NPC Vice Chairman said.
This is also an important initiative for the unity and cooperation of the Communist Party of China with all democratic parties and people without party affiliation in the new era, which fully embodies the characteristics and advantages of China's political system under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, said He Wei.
Xin Changxing thanked the Central Committee of the Peasants and Workers' Party for its long-term care and support for Jiangsu's development and for its supervision and guidance of the province's Yangtze River ecological and environmental protection.
He said that Jiangsu will go all out to implement the Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, put the restoration of the Yangtze River’s ecological environment in an overwhelming position, systematically build an institutional guarantee for the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and coordinate pollution control of rivers, seas, rivers, lakes, water, air and soil.
The CPC provincial chief said Jiangsu has strictly implemented the central government's policies on the fishing ban in the Yangtze River, and accelerate the adjustment of the industrial structure and productivity distribution in the areas along the Yangtze River, as is evidenced by the fact that the main environmental indicators of the Jiangsu section of the Yangtze River have reached the best level since the new century.
