The "Sino European Freight Train" Economic and Trade Cooperation Symposium was held Tuesday in Wuxi Huishan High-tech Zone, hoping to promote the exchange of enterprises and products between China and Germany through the China-Europe freight train service.
The Huishan High-tech Zone in Wuxi signed a cooperation framework agreement with the Hamburg Port’s Liaison Office in China, aiming to strengthen cooperation with German logistics enterprises, improve the supporting functions of overseas warehousing, and improve the "last mile" distribution system after goods arrive in Europe.
“Through such a cooperation, we can jointly establish a more efficient, environmentally friendly, and sustainable logistics system, which will play a very important role in Sino German trade, trade between China and Europe, and trade between the two economies”, said Anker, Chief Representative for Asia Pacific, Hamburg Port and Logistics GmbH, Germany.
Last year, the Wuxi West Railway Station located in the Huishan High-tech Zone launched the China Europe Freight Train to Hamburg, Germany.
In recent years, Huishan High tech Zone in Wuxi has actively responded to the country’s Belt and Road initiative by launching multiple freight train routes to Russia, Germany, five Central Asian countries and some other countries, shipping 14000 tons of goods and serving more than 50 local enterprises.
In August, the Huishan High-tech Zone in Wuxi will launch the China Europe Freight Train to significantly increase the number of trains and freight volume.
“This Sino German Economic and Trade Symposium will help to expand the destinations of the China-Europe freight trains. In the next step, we will actively organize the China Europe freight trains to be operated from Wuxi to Poland and the Netherlands, and actively organize the return freight trains to bring back foreign products”, Said Xia Linfei, General Manager of Wuxi International Freight Train Co., Ltd.
