China and Japan have jointly built a healthy elderly care demonstration community in Yixing, a county-level city in the southeast of Jiangsu province.
As the first healthy elderly care community built by Panasonic in China, Yada Matsushita Community will deeply integrate the advanced concepts and service models of the elderly care in China and Japan. Jiangsu has been determined by the Ministry of Civil Affairs as the first demonstration area for the rating of elderly care institutions as the proportion of the aging population in Jiangsu is far higher than that of the national average. In order to implementing the national strategy of actively responding to the aging population and developing the elderly care community and the elderly care industry put forward by the 20th National Congress of the CPC, the provincial government has allocated 10 million yuan each year to guide social funds to invest in the elderly care industry. In the meantime, Jiangsu has also made active efforts to introduce various kinds of capital such as private capital and foreign capital to establish various forms of health care communities, and explored the combination of tourism, entertainment, medical care and the elderly care. At present, Jiangsu is operating nearly 50 five-star elderly care institutions and elderly care communities.
