East China’s Jiangsu province reported more than 800 billion yuan of imports and exports to ASEAN countries in 2022. Driven by the continuous improvement of trade and investment liberalization and facilitation between China and ASEAN, Jiangsu and ASEAN countries have strengthened close economic and trade exchanges, and forged increasingly close industrial chain and supply chains.

At the China-Kazakhstan Lianyungang Logistics Cooperation Base, vehicles, small household appliances and clothing shipped from ASEAN countries are being loaded and will be transferred to Central Asia by the China-Europe freight train.

Liu Guiming, Chief of Logistics Management Section of Lianyungang Customs

We have comprehensively applied the measures of customs clearance facilitation, rapid customs clearance and early declaration so as to have effectively stimulated the port's transport capacity and ensured the fast and smooth passage of international trade.

The customs has continuously optimized the business environment, provided convenient services for foreign trade enterprises, and further promoted the quality and efficiency of foreign trade.

Xuzhou-based Jiangsu Liming Food Group Co., Ltd., a leading global high-quality supplier of garlic in the whole industry chain, exports to ASEAN countries including Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia.

Xuzhou Customs has customized the supervision scheme and added a "green channel" for inspection to effectively promote the export of fresh garlic and other agricultural products.

In 2022, Xuzhou exported more than 200000 tons of fresh garlic to ASEAN countries, with a year-on-year increase of more than 10%.

Cao Menghui, Deputy General Manager of Jiangsu Liming Food Group Co., Ltd.

Xuzhou Customs has given us a lot of very specific guidance and support, and the company has shown a good momentum in the development of ASEAN market, such as dehydrated garlic exported to Indonesia, and pickled and black garlic exported to Thailand, which has opened the market with rapidly growing sales momentum.

Thanks to the favorable policies such as tariff reduction and the principle of origin accumulation, Jiangsu has continuously strengthened its economic and trade ties with ASEAN countries. In 2022, Nanjing Customs issued 211.6 thousand China-ASEAN export certificates of origin for Jiangsu-based enterprises, with a value of US $15.038 billion.
