The 13 prefecture-level cities in Jiangsu Province reported a respective GDP of more than 400 billion yuan in 2022, according to the statistics of the GDPs of the province's prefecture-level cities in 2022 released by the Provincial Bureau of Statistics on Monday.
From the statistical data, Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuxi and Nantong continue to register more than trillion yuan of GDP. Suzhou ranks first in the province with a GDP of 2.3958 trillion yuan. Nanjing recorded a GDP of 1690.8 billion yuan, ranking second in the province, up 2.1% over the previous year.
In 2022, Changzhou registered 955 billion yuan of GDP and is expected to become the fifth "trillion-yuan city" in Jiangsu.
Xuzhou recorded a GDP of nearly 850 billion yuan and is striving to exceed 1 trillion yuan by 2025.
In terms of growth rate, Yancheng, Taizhou and Yangzhou ranked the top three with an increase of 4.6%, 4.4% and 4.3% respectively over the previous year.
