East China’s Jiangsu province has recently issued the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" for the Development of Education and Scientific Research to further promote the modernization of education and the construction of an education powerhouse, and strive to build the "strongest brain" in education and scientific research.
According to the Plan, Jiangsu will focus on the overall major strategic research by facing the forefront of world education reform, national major strategies, the province’s core concerns, and the ardent expectations of the people.
The province will set up about 10 major bidding topics or research projects every year, integrate outstanding scientific research teams and talents inside and outside the province to focus on tackling key problems, and strive to produce a batch of landmark major achievements that have national influence and demonstration in the province within 3-5 years.
Jiangsu will also accelerate the construction of a high-quality education and research system and build a high-level education and research team by scientifically setting up classification and evaluation standards, encouraging more outstanding scientific research talents to produce more and faster results, and promoting the rapid growth and professional development of scientific research talents.
Jiangsu will strive to build educational research into the "strongest brain", "quality engine" and "innovation highland" to promote the high-quality development of the province's education by 2025, so as to ensure that the province's education takes the lead in the country.
