Jiangsu Provincial Government held a video conference on autumn grain purchase on Sunday. Fei Gaoyun, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and executive vice governor of the province, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
All parts of the province must study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of important statements on food security, implement the major requirements of the Party Central Committee on epidemic prevention and control, economic stability and development security, follow the decisions of the provincial party committee and provincial government, and make every effort to complete the purchase, storage and circulation of grain so as to meet the convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with practical actions, according to a statement released after the meeting.
Autumn grain purchase is the top priority of the whole year's grain purchase. Jiangsu is expected to have another bumper harvest of autumn grain this year, so we must consciously put autumn grain purchase in the overall situation of economic and social development and food security, the statement said.
We must make efforts to make overall plans for epidemic prevention and control, autumn grain purchase, grain reserve reform, and ensuring supply and price stability, optimize and improve the purchase plan, refine practical work measures, improve the level of service for agriculture, ensure that work responsibilities are implemented, purchase funds are guaranteed, production and marketing cooperation is promoted, and market order is standardized, so as to ensure that autumn grain grains are stored in the warehouse, said the statement.
