9月22日晚，第四届大运河文化旅游博览会在苏州开幕。23日起，“丝路与运河的邂逅”国际展等六大展同时开门迎客。以此为契机，江苏旅游（意大利）推广中心举办“2022在华意大利友人江苏行”活动，以“水”为媒，邀请在华意大利友人代表来到苏州、扬州、宿迁、徐州和南京五座城市，赏非遗技艺，品传统文化，感受“水韵江苏”的独特魅力。
From September 22 to 25, the 4th Grand Canal Culture and Tourism Expo is held in Suzhou. The Expo features six major exhibitions, including the Encounter of Silk Road and Canal Theme Exhibition. In the meantime, Jiangsu Tourism(Italy)Promotion Center organized a cultural tourism experience for the Italians to enjoy intangible heritage, traditional culture, and the unique charm of Jiangsu.

This year is the Italy-China Year of Culture and Tourism. Alessandra Palumbo, commercial counselor of the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai spoke highly of such cultural exchange activities. "Through our National Pavilion at the Grand Canal Expo, we want to give to the Chinese visitors a taste of Italian culture and make them more and more curious about the Italian lifestyle. We are really proud of all the work we are doing in China in the field of culture and art, and we believe this is only the beginning," she said.

运博会现场，意大利友人们在运河非遗展驻足观看许久。精美艳丽的南通板鹞风筝，端庄大气的扬派盆景……精致奇异的非遗艺术发了众人极大的兴趣。意大利在华专家Luigi Di Leo对扬派盆景印象深刻。“它们如此优美、年代久远，一件件都是无价的艺术品，在欧洲我们很难找到如此美丽的盆景艺术品。这让我对江苏起了极大的好奇心。”
At the Expo, the Italians were drawn to the exhibition of intangible cultural heritage. The exquisite and vibrant Banyao kites, the distinctive Yangzhou style of bonsai, and all the other delicate works of art attract great attention. Luigi Di Leo, an Italian expert, was impressed by the Yangzhou bonsai. "They are so luxuriant with such a long history. Every piece of them is priceless. It's hard to see such brilliant bonsai art in Europe. This made me very curious about Jiangsu."

江南园林之美，海内外皆知。既到江苏，古典园林必不可错过。在中国四大名园之一拙政园，在“小园极则”网师园，在“秀绝冠江南”的木渎古镇，在清代扬州园林的代表何园，在“园林之盛甲于天下”的瘦西湖，意大利友人们认真聆听讲解，体味中国诗词与江南园林之间的情感联系，颇有感悟。Ruggero Doronzo赞叹道：“江南水乡的景色我让流连忘返，我非常喜欢江南特色的小桥、流水、人家的画面，所有的这些特色和水结合在一起，给人祥和、平静的和谐感。”
Jiangsu is celebrated for her beautiful gardens, which are a highlight of this trip. After their visit to the Humble Administrator's Garden, the Master-of-Nets Garden, the Mudu ancient town, the Ho Family Garden, and the Slender West Lake, the Italians learned the emotional combination of Chinese poetry and Jiangnan gardens. "I really like the scenery composed of small bridges, flowing water, and households. All these give people a peaceful and calm sense of harmony, which makes me want to stay here," said Ruggero Doronzo, an Italian visitor.
美景之余，还有美食与美酒。在淮扬菜的发源地扬州，“东南第一佳味”的鲜美味道让意大利友人们味蕾大开，食指大动。来到宿迁洋河酒厂，洋河酒背后的中国酒文化和历史也引发了大家的极大兴趣。
The beautiful scenery is complemented by fine food and good wine. In Yangzhou, the birthplace of Huaiyang cuisine, the delicacies provoked the Italians' appetite. In Suqian Yanghe Winery, the Chinese wine culture and history behind Yanghe wine also aroused great interest.
本次江苏行还突出了汉文化的内涵和元素，给意大利友人们提供了近距离体验汉文化的机会。从宿迁项王故里到徐州汉墓，汉文化让意大利友人们为其深深着迷，汉兵马俑更是引得众人流连忘返，原定1小时的参观足足持续了3小时才结束。摄影师Nodari Fabio专程从云南赶来，一品江苏楚风汉韵。常年待在云贵地区的他欣赏了很多中国的大山大川和少数民族风情。而此行让他认识到，这里是了解中国历史和汉文化最经典的地方。
This trip also gave prominence to the connotations and elements of the Han Culture and gave the Italians an up-close experience of them. Xiangyu's hometown and the Han Tomb brought the group unforgettable memories. Especially, the terracotta warriors and horses of the Han Dynasty were so fascinating that they made the visit, which was scheduled for one hour, last a full three hours. The photographer Nodari Fabio came from as far afield as Yunnan to have a taste of the Han culture. The trip made him realize that Jiangsu is the most classic place to learn about Chinese history and Han culture.

The 4th Grand Canal Culture and Tourism Expo presented the visitors with a feast of culture and tourism, promoted exchanges and mutual learning, and strengthened bonds among people from different countries.
意大利工程师Luca Nardini在中国工作了6年，这是他第一次参观运博会。他说：“这真是非常精彩的盛会，开始我并没有想到规模会这么大，会有如此多的参观者，这真是一个惊喜。参观展会让我了解了原本不太熟悉的城市，它们都深深的吸引着我。我想用多一些的时间去这些地方旅游，体会当地的美食、风土人情。”
Luca Nardini, an Italian engineer, has worked in China for 6 years. This is his first time visiting the Expo. He said, "This is really a wonderful event. At first, I didn't expect that it would be so large with so many visitors. It was really a surprise. Visiting the exhibition let me know about the cities I was not familiar with, which deeply attracted me. I want to spend more time traveling in these places to experience the local food and customs."
Antonio Mattera同样盛赞本次运博会：“这个展会让人们可以通过参观来了解中国的很多城市和许多国家，我们就像环游了一次世界。 这使每个国家之间能够轻松的建立跨文化交流，这让来参观的游客有机会从一个国家云旅行到另一个国家，通过品尝食物、饮料、感受气味、欣赏颜色、听音乐、观看民族特色舞蹈，通过形、声、闻、味、触五种感官来充分感受当地的风土人情和文化特点。”
Antonio Mattera also praised the Expo. "This exhibition allows people to learn about many cities in China and many other countries. I feel like I was traveling the world. It promotes cross-cultural exchanges, gives visitors the opportunity to taste the food and drink, take the smell, see the colors, listen to the music, and watch the dances to fully feel the local customs and cultural characteristics of different countries."
