The district of Wujiang in Suzhou city has continued to tackle exhaust and dust pollution in response to the provincial campaign on pollution control.
On July 27, the surprise inspection team visited a number of enterprises in Wujiang District to check their emissions of waste gas and dust.
The workshop operation of Suzhou Jiacai Company generates waste gas such as volatile organic compounds. In its closed workshop corridor, the concentration of volatile organic compounds measured around 18 mg/m3.
These exhaust gases can only be discharged after the purification standards are met.
However, at the discharge outlet on the roof of Jiacai's workshop, the volatile organic compound concentration was measured as high as about 17 mg/m3, indicating that the purification equipment is almost useless. The unannounced visit group found that the activated carbon used to absorb exhaust gas in the purification equipment has not been replaced for a long time.
According to regulations, workshops that generate exhaust gas and dust should be fully enclosed.
However, the concentration of volatile organic compounds at the door of the workshop of Suzhou Hezhongda Auto Accessories Co., Ltd. reached 17 mg/m3.
The activated carbon in the company's purification equipment has not been replaced for a long time and has lost its adsorption function.
The two workshops of Suzhou Weiwei Aluminum Manufacture Technology Co., Ltd. were not closed during operation. The dust concentration in the welding and cutting workshop is seriously exceeding the standard.
According to this value, the worker is equivalent to working in a heavily polluted environment.
Many workshops of Suzhou Dingyu Energy Saving Equipment Co., Ltd. were not closed during operation, and some purification equipment was not turned on.
The test showed that the concentration of volatile organic compounds in some workshops exceeded 70 mg/m3.
