East China’s Jiangsu province will hold the Jiangsu International Friendship Cities Week for BRI Cooperation in July, according to a press conference held by the provincial government on Monday afternoon. The event will be sponsored by the Jiangsu Provincial Government and Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
By centering on the theme of "dialogue and cooperation, sharing the future", the exchange week will see regional governments and various government departments hold 37 series of activities with international sister city governments and institutions, including dialogue with Germany and the "Friendly City Painting" International Youth Painting Exhibition.
Jiangsu will sign 27 cooperation agreements in the fields of economy, trade, science and technology, education and environmental protection, cultural tourism, sports and health. More than 60 pairs of international sister city guests from 43 countries will participate in the event through connection or video.

"The exchange week will promote international friendship cities,actively respond to the 'Nanjing Initiative' initiated by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries,and practice the global governance concept of extensive consultation for joint contribution and shared benefits.The provincial departments will focus on exchanges and cooperation in the field of people's livelihood through the implementation of several livelihood cooperation projects for more down-to-earth cooperation results."said Sun Yi, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government.
Jiangsu has concluded 352 pairs of international friendly provinces, states and cities with 64 countries and more than 430 pairs of friendly exchange provinces, states and cities, ranking first in the country in total.
