Last batch of new energy buses produced by Suzhou Higer Bus Company Limited have recently been shipped to Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan. A total of 250 Suzhou-made Higer buses, delivered to Pakistan in separate shipments, will reach their destination soon and provide the locals with comfortable and perfect public transportation experience.
With a new batch of Higer buses entering Pakistan, Higer will stay true to its original mission to make contributions to local public transportation. “It’s an opportunity and also a challenge. The buses will go into service in six months. That means we don’t have much time to complete the work of design, research, procurement and production, let alone the shipment will take about one month,” said Fan Wujiang, South Asian Market Manager of Higer Bus.

The sudden resurgence of COVID-19 earlier this year posed a challenge to Suzhou Higer Bus. Supply of materials and shipment of products were hindered by the epidemic. Thanks to the special working mechanisms of Suzhou government, the industrial and supply chains maintained stability and smooth operations.

The first batch of more than 100 new energy buses have been delivered to Pakistan in mid-May. On the day of delivery, the honorable Minister of Transport & Mass Transit and Minister of Labour & Human Resources of Sindh arrived at the scene for test ride of the Higer buses and delivered a speech. They both agreed that the first batch of buses have taken a solid step to improve the public transportation system in Karachi.
In recent years, new energy version of Higer buses have grown popularity in countries along the Belt and Road, including South Korea, Serbia, Bulgaria, Italy, Austria, Israel and Pakistan. Suzhou Higer Bus entered the Pakistani market in 2008 and established a complete after-sales service team.
