An inspection team of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress went on an inspection tour in Jiangsu from Sunday to Tuesday to inspect the enforcement of the Environmental Protection Law. The team is headed by Ding Zhongli, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. Governor Xu Kunlin briefed the inspection team on the implementation of the Environmental Protection Law in Jiangsu.
Ding Zhongli pointed out that under the centralized and unified leadership of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress, the provincial government and relevant departments have resolutely and conscientiously implemented the Xi Jinping Thought on ecological civilization and the Xi Jinping Thought on the rule of law.
He hoped that Jiangsu would adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, resolutely implement the Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization and the Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, fully and effectively implement various laws in the field of ecological and environmental protection including the Environmental Protection Law, and further explore more scientific implementation of the Environmental Protection Law so as to build a better ecological environment governance system, and push the construction of ecological civilization to a new level.
Xu Kunlin said that the inspection of environmental protection law enforcement in Jiangsu by the NPC Law Enforcement Inspection Team will help Jiangsu to promote pollution control and build a beautiful Jiangsu on the track of the rule of law, fully and effectively implement the Environmental Protection Law, and coordinate the promotion of carbon reduction, pollution reduction and make more efforts to promote green, low-carbon and high-quality development.
During the inspection tour in Jiangsu, the NPC Law Enforcement Inspection Team also held three symposiums in Nanjing and Yangzhou to solicit opinions and suggestions. The team also introspected the implementation of the Environmental Protection Law in Nanjing and Yangzhou.
