East China’s Jiangsu province has released an action plan for energy-saving technological transformation in the industrial sector to ensure that by 2025, the ratio of energy consumption per unit of added value in the province's above-scale industries will drop by more than 17% from 2020.
Jiangsu will speed up the adjustment of industrial structure, and strictly prohibit new production capacity in high-energy-carrying industries such as steel, cement clinker, and flat glass.
The province will continue to promote advanced energy-saving technologies, such as high-efficiency energy-saving boilers, motors, pumps, fans, air compressors, and transformers, and pilot the construction of green microgrids.
The province will increase the support of energy-saving services, implement the contract energy management mechanism, encourage energy-saving technology service providers and green manufacturing solution providers to carry out energy-saving design, technological transformation, operation and maintenance management for enterprises, and encourage the construction of regional carbon efficiency monitoring platforms.
By 2025, the energy consumption per unit of added value of industries above designated size in Jiangsu will drop by more than 17% compared with 2020, ranking at the forefront of the country while significantly improving the green and low-carbon development.
