Despite the light drizzle, foreign guests from the United States, Singapore, Canada, Germany and Nigeria followed the tour guide and appreciated the morning scenery with animation. Fresh air, birds chirping and the little sprinkle of rain made the garden more inviting.

Through some old photographs taken by Florence Lee Powell and Osvald Sirén between the 1930s and 1950s, participants learned about the history of the garden and felt the efforts put into the preservation of this ancient structure in a tangible way.

“We only had a cursory tour of the garden before and didn’t go that far into its history, so today’s trip is rather interesting in comparison. Those old photographs from different time periods mirror the successful result of preservation of cultural heritages,” said the foreign guests.
