He made the remarks at a people’s congress work conference held on Monday.
Wu Zhenglong pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the Central People's Congress work conference enriched and expanded General Secretary Xi Jinping's important thoughts on upholding and improving the system of the People's Congress, and further deepened our party's understanding of the regularity of strengthening the work of the People's Congress, making it an important part of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, pointing out the way forward and providing fundamental guidelines for strengthening the work of the people's congress in the new era.
He asked the people's congresses at all levels in the province to deeply understand the general secretary's important exposition on the whole process people's democracy, fully understand the rich connotation of developing socialist democracy, deeply understand the general secretary's important exposition on the significant advantages of the people's congress system, and strengthen the country's fundamental political system.
Wu Zhenglong required that people's congresses at all levels must deeply understand the general secretary's important exposition on the main features of the people's congress system, firmly grasp the major principles for strengthening the work of the people's congress in the new era, deeply understand the general secretary's important exposition on the key tasks of the people's congress in the new era, effectively strengthen the political consciousness and mission to promote the high-quality development of the work of the people's congress in the new era, and always move forward in the direction guided by General Secretary Xi Jinping.
Noting that the people’s congress system at all levels in the province has made remarkable progress in the new era under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, Wu Zhenglong demanded that efforts be made to enhance political stance, gain insight into the decisive significance that the Party has established Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and defined the guiding role of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core.
Wu Zhenglong emphasized that people’s congress at all levels in the province must keep in mind that all power in the state belongs to the people, constantly enrich the practice of whole process people's democracy.
The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested that efforts should be made to improve the quality and level of the work of the people's congress, promote the modernization of social governance, promote the healthy and sustainable development of new technologies, new industries, new formats and new models, and speed up the construction of laws and regulations that are compatible with national laws and administrative regulations and are compatible with Jiangsu's modernization construction practices, promote scientific and democratic decision-making with high-level decisions, reflect the common will of the people, enhance the standardization, timeliness, and authority of decisions, so that the party's propositions become the common will and conscious action of the people of Jiangsu through legal procedures.
